Police investigate Greenwood storage unit break-ins

GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

At some point during the weekend, an unknown thief broke info three units at Greenwood storage facility and police are working to figure out who swiped victims' goods.

A manager at the Southside Mini Storage rental business on Panola Avenue said between 6 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Sunday, someone cut the locks on several units, according to Greenwood police.

The manager said she checked all the units Friday and they were OK, but a property gate was left open because of a wire cut by crews working on sewer lines, according to the police.

One of the victims of the thefts reported several boxes stolen from his unit, which included clothing, 100 small NASCAR cars valued at $500, Christmas dishes and two 12-gauge shotgun barrels, police said.

Anyone with information on the thefts should call the Greenwood Police Department.
