SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County arson investigators are looking into reports that three unknown children may have set fire to a local restaurant.

Deputies and Roebuck firefighters were called to Holden's Ranch on Southport Road on Monday about 2 p.m. after an employee saw the outside of the building on fire.

According to deputies, an unknown customer let an employee know he saw three kids outside playing with sticks that looked to be on fire near the side of the building but he told them to get away.

The next thing workers knew, smoke was filling the room and they saw the vinyl siding on fire, deputies said. They sprayed the fire with extinguishers and a pitcher of water as firefighters arrived, according to the sheriff's office report.

The report states that no evidence was found other than children-sized footprints along with some sticks that could have possibly been used. Deputies said they were found near the wood line in the direction the customer saw them take off towards.

Anyone with information about the fire should call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
