ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office has arrested and charged two men in connection with a burglary at the abandoned Bi-Lo in Anderson County.

On Monday, two workers were checking on the building on E. Shockley Ferry Road when they notified the sheriff's office to the possibility of burglars inside, according to Lt. Sheila Cole.

According to Cole, 55-year-old Tony Fair was seen walking away from the business' rear entrance, and a second suspect, 62-year-old Bobby Austin was found inside the abandoned shopping center.

She said a pair of black wire cutters and a claw hammer were found near Austin.

The men told deputies they went inside to take scrap metal, according to Cole.

Fair has been charged with third degree burglary. Austin has been charged with third degree burglary and possession of tools capable of being used in a crime.

Cole said the business has experienced several break-ins over the last few months.
