If you're ready for summer, today's your day! Expect gorgeous weather, similar to Tuesday but even warmer! Highs reach the mid-80s Upstate with sunshine, and near 80° in Western NC. 84° is the Upstate record high set back in 1986, and could match that record by later today! Thursday brings a few more clouds and a slight chance for passing showers, but temperatures will remain in the upper 70s and low 80s. Friday, a cold front starts to push into our area, and while we don't have a major storm threat, the heat and humidity that we're building in this week are good ingredients to spark scattered rain a few isolated severe thunderstorms. Late Friday morning into the afternoon is the main threat time, and could bring some strong storms with heavy rain and damaging wind. The storms should wind down throughout the late-day hours, but showers will continue to be a possibility into late Friday night, diminishing early Saturday.
