Deputies: Bomb threat closes massive Anderson Co. Electrolux plant

Posted: Updated:
ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A manufacturing plant in Anderson County has been closed for several hours, and may not reopen until Thursday, after a bomb threat on Wednesday night.

The sheriff's office said they are checking the 810,000-square-foot Electrolux Company at 101 Masters Blvd. after the threat was called in.

Due to the large size of the plant, the workers have been evacuated for hours as they sweep the building for explosives, deputies said.

The sheriff's office said if they are not able to locate anything by 11 p.m. on Wednesday night they will secure the building with officers overnight and complete the sweep in the morning.
