The world's foremost outfitter, Cabela's, is celebrating the grand opening of a new store in Greenville starting on Thursday, with events scheduled throughout the weekend.
Grand-opening events are scheduled to begin at the new store on Woodruff Road at 8 a.m. Thursday.
A Forest City man will perform the ribbon-cutting at 10:45 a.m. by splitting the ribbon with an arrow shot from a bow.
David Starnes, the reigning South Carolina Open Pro Archery champion, will perform the ribbon-cutting. He's also an employee at the new sporting goods superstore.
John McLemore, the president and chief executive officer of Masterbuilt, will also be visiting the Greenville Cabela's store from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday.
Additionally, there will be family-friendly activities from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, including archery, fishing lessons and demonstrations - weather permitting.
The store's normal business hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
To celebrate the festivities, the store will have giveaways throughout the weekend. The first 50 customers through the door Friday will receive a Cabela's utility bag valued at $14.99. The first 50 Saturday will receive a Cabela's cap valued at $14.99. And Sunday, the first 50 will receive a Cabela's gift card valued between $5 and $100.
There will also be chances to enter to win a $1,000 Cabela's shopping spree throughout the weekend.
