Rain chances will increase for Friday as a front approaches. Scattered showers and t-storms will develop in the mountains toward midday, then storms will push into the Upstate and northeast Georgia by late afternoon. Damaging wind will be the main threat with storms, along with lightning and small hail.
Skies should clear Friday night, leaving a nice Saturday in store. Skies will be partly cloudy and highs will reach the 70s for the Upstate and 60s in the mountains Saturday afternoon.
Showers are back for Sunday, but most of the daylight hours should be dry. Sunday night is when the heavy rain will push in.
