MAULDIN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Investigators with the Mauldin Police Department are working to identify a man seen wandering around the YMCA parking lot on Brookwood Point Place Wednesday around 6 p.m., according to Sgt. Detective Ben Ford.

Ford said callers reported the man was seen peering suspiciously into cars, but when officers arrived, the man was already gone.

Ford said investigators would like to identify the man and question him regarding a string of thefts from inside cars parked in the YMCA lot over several months.

Anyone with information is asked to call Mauldin police at 864-289-8900.
