A wanted Greenville business owner accused of failing to return customers' items has been arrested, according to deputies.
In February, Jonathan Smith, with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, said deputies and police had dozens of active warrants for the arrest of Ronald Stewart II, the owner of The Golden Hedge.
This week, Stewart was arrested in Hilton Head by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office and is awaiting extradition to return to Greenville County, Smith said.
To date, Smith said both agencies have approximately 130 active warrants for Stewart in connection with the two locations of The Golden Hedge store he owned.
Stewart had two locations, one at 591 Haywood Rd. in the city of Greenville and one at 626 Congaree Rd. in the county, where customers dropped off items to be repaired or sold under consignment, Greenville police said.
Police said customers have not been able to get in touch with Stewart to get their items back and the store has since shut down. According to Smith, Stewart sold some of the victims' belongings at local pawn shops.
