SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

One lane of southbound Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County will close Friday as crews work to repair the road.

The outside (right) lane of I-85 from approximately one mile south of mile marker 74 at SC 9 to just north of North Pine Street at mile marker 73 will close at 4 p.m. Friday.

According to the Department of Transportation, both right and center lanes can be expected to close for temporary repairs to the center lane.

Crews are working to fix the broken concrete slabs in the right lane. SCDOT estimates the repairs will be completed the week of April 14, weather permitting.

Drivers headed south should expect delays and find alternate routes, including Interstate 85 Business.
