Evacuations ordered because of gas line rupture on NE side

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A ruptured high pressure gas line on Tucson's northeast side forced authorities to order the evacuation of some buildings in the area.

According to Capt. Grant Cesark of the Rural/Metro Fire Department, the rupture occurred in the 10200 block of East Kleindale Road near North Houghton Road.

Cesarek said 10 people were forced to leave the area.

Southwest Gas responded and secured the line.

Authorities do not know yet what caused the rupture.
