SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police said two men were charged Friday night after the men led officers on a chase.

Officers said they attempted to pull over a car that had made several turns without using a turn signal.

According to the report, that's when Marion Garnett, 22, sped away from police cruiser which had activated the blue lights, and nearly lost control of the car at the intersection of South Center Street and Farley Avenue.

Police said the chase ended on Saxon Avenue when the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a curb.

According to incident reports, the driver, Garnett, and a passenger, Christopher Camp, also 22, jumped out of the car and started to run from the officers.

Officers said they were able to take catch up with both suspects after a short foot chase. They found a stolen gun and crack cocaine inside the suspects' car.

Both men were charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a stolen pistol and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

Garnett was also charged with hit-and-run, reckless driving and failure to stop for a blue light.

Spartanburg County Detention Center records show that Camp and Garnett were both released on bond Saturday afternoon.
