Road Warriors clinch spot in playoffs

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Road Warriors will continue into the post-season after defeating Gwinnett on Saturday and a Florida loss Sunday, earning Greenville a spot in the playoffs.

Greenville defeated Gwinnett on Saturday night 4-3 and though South Carolina fell to the Florida Everblades on Saturday, the Stingrays' win Sunday positioned the Road Warriors in for the ECHL playoffs.

The Road Warriors don't know who they will face in the playoffs yet, but the other ECHL teams who know they will battle for the Kelly Cup are the Reading Royals, Wheeling Nailers, Kalamazoo Wings, Cincinnati Cyclones, South Carolina Stingrays and the Orlando Solar Bears.

The regular season continues through April 13. Greenville's last home game is Tuesday, April 8. The Road Warriors will host South Carolina at 7 p.m. They will travel to Orlando then South Florida then back to Orlando for the final three regular season games.
