GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Officials are warning residents to avoid contact with some waterways in the Greenville area after two sanitary sewers overflowed Monday.

According to ReWa, the heavy rainfall in the area caused the overflow in the area of Main Street in Taylors and Chick Springs Road in Greenville.

A ReWa spokesperson encouraged people to avoid contact with the Enoree River, downstream from Main Street in Taylors, and Richland Creek and receiving streams, including the Cleveland Park area.

ReWa said they will post any updated information online at www.rewaonline.org.
