GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The coroner was able to identify a slain Williamston woman who was found dead inside a burning car in the Honea Path area.

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans said the woman was Joseline Kassandra Gamarro Aragon, 20, and he has ruled her death a homicide.

Evans said DNA comparison was used to identify Aragon's body after it was found in the burnt car on McCullough School Road at Oak Hill Road on April 1.

He has yet to determine how Aragon died, but he said she was killed sometime between March 31 and April 1.

Deputies said once firefighters had put out the fire, they discovered a woman's body inside.

Deputy Jonathan Smith said the car Aragon was found in belonged to her. He said Aragon's family and friends did not report her missing, but they are going back to talk to them and her other people she knew to see if they have any information about her death.

Anyone with information on the fire or Aragon's death is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
