GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A driver who had a medical incident crashed through a fence, down a embankment and into a creek off of the Reedy River Tuesday morning, according to police.
Media relations officer Johnathan Bragg said the driver was in the parking lot of the Bristol Apartments on Cleveland Street when the person had a medical condition causing them to lose control of the vehicle about 11:45 a.m.
The driver went through fence, down the 25-foot embankment and into the river, Bragg said. He said there was only about one foot of water in the riverbed.
Bragg said the driver was taken to the hospital but any injuries or what caused medical incident were not released.
Crews had to bring in a larger tow truck to haul the SUV up and out of the creek. Click here to see photos of the crew at work.
