Two elected to Anderson City Council seats

Posted: Updated:
ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson elected two city council members on Tuesday, one an incumbent and one a newcomer.

Buck Roberts held Council Seat 3 with 110 votes and John M. Roberts was elected to Council Seat 8 At-Large after securing 821 votes.

The At-Large Seat 8 was left empty after Charles Anderson pleaded guilty to federal obstruction charges in January.

Anderson resigned from his position as a City Council member in the city of Anderson after he was elected to a four-year term as the At-Large Seat 8 council member in 2012.

Linda McConnell, the assistant city manager, said they will amend the current election ordinance to include the unexpired term for Anderson's seat.
