Deputies: Man swipes $2K from NC woman's home day after Christmas

MARION, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies in western North Carolina said they have arrested a man accused of breaking into a Marion woman's home and stealing nearly $2,500 worth of property.

McDowell County deputies said Eric Houck, 36, was identified as the burglar who broke into the victim's home Dec. 26.

Deputies' investigation led them to Houck's arrest after they said he stole a heater, tools, an air compressor, fuel oil, lawn equipment, a spotlight, a tiller and other items worth a total value of $2,475.

Houck was arrested and charged with breaking and entering and larceny.
