GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A fire destroyed a garage on a property along Roper Mountain Road in Greenville Wednesday morning.
According to FOX Carolina's crew at the scene, the outbuilding was on the property of a home at the corner of Roper Mountain and Oak Grove Lake Road.
Boiling Springs firefighters said the call came in at 11:39 a.m. and they were at the home within five minutes. They said the garage behind the home had motorcycles inside and around it and the fire had consumed the structure.
Within 15 minutes, firefighters had the blaze under control. Firefighters said the main house had minor damage from the fire's heat.
In addition to the garage's destruction, several motorcycles were lost in the blaze and some were damaged.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. There were no reported injuries though the homeowner complained of chest pains and was treated at the scene, according to a FOX Carolina photojournalist.
Smoke could be seen billowing into the sky a few miles away, soaring above the wood line near Interstate 85.
