A Spartanburg man is in custody two days after deputies said he held his girlfriend and her nephew captive for hours after he beat, kicked and stomped on her for two hours.
Spartanburg County deputies were called to a Campobello home at 11 a.m. Tuesday after the victim was able to get away.
She told deputies she was living with her boyfriend, 18-year-old Shontayvis Foster, at a relative's home when he became angry at her nephew who had messed up his phone, according to the sheriff's office report.
Foster then punched her in the head and body multiple times, causing her to fall to the ground, the report said. Then he stomped on her head and body, hit her approximately 65 times with a belt, broke a bottle over her head, pulled out her hair, then hit her again with a wooden bed post and cut her with a box cutter, deputies said.
The attack lasted from about 11 p.m. Monday until 1 a.m. Tuesday, the report stated.
Foster would not let her or the boy leave or call for help, but they were able to escape the home when he finally left about 11 a.m., deputies said.
Deputies said the woman was covered in bruises, small cuts and swelling from the assault. The report said deputies told the woman about safe homes and how to seek an order of protection.
Deputies signed arrest warrants for Foster on the charges of kidnapping and criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
Deputies said Foster was arrested by Lyman Police late Thursday night when he was spotted by officers in the area.
