EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Easley police are searching for a suspect after they said shot a man multiple times on Wednesday night, prompting Pickens County Schools to be on heightened security Thursday.

According to Major Tim Tollison, officers responded to a 911 call at 8:40 p.m. in reference to a shooting on Highland Road.

Tollison said officers arrived and found a man with several gunshot wounds to the body.

Tollison identified the suspected gunman as 32-year-old Jason Larson. Larson was seen leaving the home where the shooting took place in a white Nissan or Mitsubishi type vehicle with the tag JVJ865, according to police.

Police said Larson also fired at a woman in the home, but he missed her.

The suspect and the victims were acquaintances, according to Tollison. The victim was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Warrants have been issued for two counts of attempted murder for Larson, police said. Larson is described as 6'3" tall and weighs about 205 pounds. According to police, Larson has a twin brother who lives in the area.

Tollison said Pickens County Schools were on heightened security during the morning as a precautionary measure.

Police said Larson is considered armed and dangerous. If anyone see him they are asked to call the Easley Police Department at 864-859-4025.
