ENOREE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies said a fight between two men over illegal narcotics led to one of them being shot and the other's arrest on Thursday night.

Deputies were called to Highway 92 at Parker Road about 7:45 p.m. where they found the victim.

According to deputies, the argument about the drugs became physical, and then one of them shot the other in the chest. The victim was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury after taking a gunshot below his armpit, deputies said.

Following the shooting, deputies said they found the suspect's car parked behind a home on Price House Road in the county.

Then a short time later, deputies said they arrested Chris Bridges, 21, on the charge of attempted murder.

According to deputies, a second person was arrested at the shooting scene. Deputies said while they were talking to witnesses, one of the men they tried to interview was, "Extremely belligerent and had an odor of alcohol coming from his breath."

Deputies said the witness was upset when he was notified his car would be towed away from the scene as part of the investigation and was cursing, so he was arrested and charged with public disorderly conduct. Deputies identified him as Collier Simmons, 24.

According to the deputy's report and jail records, Simmons lives with the shooting victim.
