SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A man who swiped two cases of beer from a Spartanburg store without paying was seen stumbling down the road with them in his arms Thursday night, according to deputies.

Spartanburg County deputies said an employee at the Li'l Cricket store on Garner Road reported the theft and deputies were alerted to keep an eye out for a man wearing a camo hat, black jacket and brown boots carrying two, 18-pack cases of Bud Light.

Around the corner from the store on Boundary Drive, deputies said they saw a man stumbling in the road matching the description.

Deputies said the man had leaves and a limb on his back, a green tree worm on him, and appeared to be "grossly intoxicated." When they stopped him to ask him where he was headed and where he was coming from, deputies reported he began cursing and yelling at them.

According to the deputy's report, when they asked the man to stop cursing, he began yelling profanities at them louder. Deputies said the man did not have a receipt for the beer, telling them he paid with cash and did not get change.

Deputies said they arrested Christopher Miller, 37, of Boiling Springs, on charges of shoplifting and public disorderly conduct.
