SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies in Spartanburg County said they have charged a 17-year-old boy as the suspect in a police impersonator case reported in March.

Deputies said Anthony Huston of Spartanburg was charged with impersonating a police officer on Friday.

Deputies said the crime occurred on March 24 on Nazareth Road.

According to incident reports, the victim told deputies an SUV that was behind her activated emergency lights inside the car that flashed blue and red.

The victim said she pulled over at a Li'l Cricket station, where the suspect approached her and told her she was speeding and he was going to give her a warning.

Deputies said the suspect handed the victim a business card, which listed a name and a private business.

Deputies said that business card eventually led them to Huston.

Huston was released from the Spartanburg County Detention center on his own recognizance and is awaiting a court date.
