Greenville Co. deputies kick off spring break with traffic enforcement blitz

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

As spring break begins for students in Greenville County schools on Monday, Greenville County deputies want to remind everyone to use extra caution while driving due to the greater number of inexperienced younger drivers on the roadways.

Deputies also announced a traffic enforcement blitz scheduled to start on Monday which will target impaired drivers and people not wearing their seatbelt.

Deputies said there have been more than 20 traffic fatalities so far in Greenville County this year. 62% of those fatalities were a result of the victims not wearing their seat belt, deputies said.

The traffic enforcement blitz will continue throughout the summer, deputies said.
