SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police said a man who was wanted by the U.S. Marshal Service was taken into custody on Saturday after fighting with officers.

Officers said they were responding to a drug complaint on Princeton Street, when they encountered Antwaun Gibson, 26, who tried to run when he saw them approach.

Officers briefly caught up to Robinson, and said he threw a plastic bag to the ground, full of what was later identified as heroin, and then continued running.

Additional officers arrived and said Robinson tried to fight them as they took him into custody.

Officers soon discovered that the suspect had two outstanding warrants.

Officers said Robinson was also on federal probation and was wanted by U.S. Marshal Service.
