GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An 11-year-old boy was hit by an SUV while riding his bike on Monday, according to a Highway Patrol spokesperson.

Troopers said the boy ran a stop sign at the intersection of River Watch Drive and Bluff Point Court near Simpsonville in Greenville County.

The boy was transported to Greenville Health Systems.

There was no word on his injuries, but firefighters on scene said they didn't appear to be life threatening.
