Deputies seek tips after nearly dozen guns stolen from Spartanburg home

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies are hoping someone has some information on a burglary and theft of nearly one dozen guns from a home, several of which were collectible firearms.

Deputies said a burglar broke into the locked Oak Street home sometime between 7:30 p.m. April 7 and 6 a.m. April 8 through a side window.

The thieves only stole the guns from inside a secured gun cabinet, deputies said.

According to deputies, the homeowner was diligent with his firearms, taking pictures of each weapon and the serial numbers of those firearms.

The firearms reported stolen were a Colt Defender .45, a Uzi Eagle .40, a Colt 1991A1, a Browning Hi-Power, a Para-Ordinance P13 .45, a Colt Python .357, a Beretta 92, S&W 686, a Ruger Mark .22, Browning. 22 and a Winchester 94 AE .45 LC. Deputies said several of the weapons were collectible and valuable.

The victim said the most valuable gun stolen was the nickel-plated Colt Python, which was in mint, unfired condition.

Anyone with information on the theft and guns' whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
