WEST MEMPHIS, AR -

(WMC-TV) - A so-called Voodoo priest's Mid-South home is concerning many people in the area.

The man's house and lawn have interesting items, some that appear to be related to Voodoo. His neighbor says it is ruining her life.

Rebecca Croom says her West Memphis neighbor scares her with his yard ornamentation. There are skulls, a doll looking at her house, shoes attached to a tree, a big mask, and suit of armor at the front door. Mardi Gras beads are everywhere.

She says her neighbor speaks in an unusual manner.

"He said he was a Voodoo priest," she said. "He comes down and he goes, 'boo ja boo ja bll blll blll.' And he puts smoke into the air."

She says her property value has gone down.

"I've got Parkinsons, and I'm very distressed over my situation. I can't sell my house," said Croom.

Her 14-year-old daughter contacted WMC Action News 5 looking for help.

"My Mom needed help. She begged me to help her and I felt bad. I wanted it to stop," said daughter Jewel Croom.

Croom says the over-the-fence neighborly talk is anything but neighborly.

"He says you're going to jail, and I say you're going to hell," said Croom.

Croom did get arrested.

"He said I tore up his stuff in his yard. I went over there and destroyed a bunch of his stuff," she said.

But she denies she destroyed anything. Neighbors say Croom caused some mischief.

"She took his flags from his country. She egged his house," said resident Jenny Parker.

Parker, who lives two houses down, says the yard decorations are fine with her.

"It's not Voodoo next door. That's just their preference. They are nice people," said Parker.

WMC Action News 5 tried to talk with the so-called Voodoo priest, but no one answered the door. We were unable to contact any city or court officials for a comment.

The police chief said he had not heard of a Voodoo priest in West Memphis, but he would check it out.
