SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect sought in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store.

Just after midnight on Wednesday, deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Lil' Cricket at 9075 Fairforest Rd., according to Lt. Tony Ivey.

According to the incident report, a man went into the store wearing a black bubble jacket, blue jeans, a black scarf over his face and dark sunglasses.

The report said the man had his hand in his jacket pocked and told an employee that he had a gun while he demanded money.

The man then told the employee to give him Newport cigarettes, the victim reported.

After he got the cigarettes and money, the suspect told the employee to go into the back room, where she waited until he left, according to the report.

The sheriff's office released a surveillance photo from the robbery and asked the public for help identifying the person in it.

Deputies asked anyone with information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
