CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Clemson Tigers forward K.J. McDaniels is leaving the team to enter the 2014 NBA Draft, the school announced on Tuesday.

McDaniels was the 2013-14 ACC Defensive Player of the Year. He led the team in blocks, points, rebounds, steals and three-pointers during the season.

The Associated Press projects the 6'6" forward to go sometime in the middle-to-late first round.

"I'm thankful for the opportunity these past three seasons to grow as a player and person at Clemson," McDaniels said in a press release.

"None of this would have been possible without the guidance and support of my coaches, teammates and family. This was not an easy decision, but I am excited to take the next step toward fulfilling my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA," McDaniels said.
