SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said when they tried to talk to a man soliciting money alongside Chesnee Highway, he took off before stopping to pee in public and later threatening to kill an officer.
Two Spartanburg County deputies on patrol saw the man standing alongside the roadway Wednesday, holding up a sign asking for money, according to a sheriff's office report.
When officers tried to talk to him, the report said he started cursing loudly at them then walked away.
Deputies said the man walked off, trying to get away from them and then they found him around the corner of a building along Highway 9 with his pants down, exposing himself towards the roadway while peeing.
Deputies arrested the man, identified as 60-year-old Robin Green, charging him with public disorderly conduct and solicitation/hitchhiking. The report stated he also had an outstanding warrant served for public disorderly conduct.
Green said he needed to go the hospital, so he was taken there where doctors cleared him, the report stated. While en route to jail from the hospital, deputies said Green began to threaten them.
The report stated he said he threatened to kill the officer when he got out of jail.
Deputies also filed charges of indecent exposure and threatening public official.
