PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Dacusville woman who deputies say plotted to have her husband killed was denied bond in Pickens County on Friday morning.

Crystal Gail Williams, 34, and Marcus Channing Johnson, 35, were both charged with murder in the death of Shane Williams, Crystal Williams' husband in February.

According to warrants, Crystal Williams unlocked the kitchen door of the family's Devon Court home for Johnson, who then entered the home early Jan. 26. Warrants stated Crystal Williams awoke her husband and told him the fire needed wood.

Sheriff Rick Clark said the motive for the killing was to collect a $250,000 life insurance policy on the victim.

Crystal Williams appeared before a Pickens County judge Friday, who denied her bond, though she can reapply at a later date.

In court, the prosecution stated they were seeking the death penalty in the case and said both Crystal Williams and Johnson had admitted to conspiring to kill her husband.
