SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Opening statements in a Pittsfield triple murder trial began Friday in Hampden Superior Court.

Prosecutors said 47-year-old David Chalue was one of the men who carried out the killings in August 2011 of three Pittsfield men.

Adam Lee Hall, who has already been convicted, wanted them dead in relation to another case, according to authorities.

Prior to giving testimony against Hall, David Glasser, his roommate, Edward Frampton, and their friend Robert Chadwell were all kidnapped and killed by Hall, Chalue and Caius Veiovis, according to prosecutors.

Hall was the first to be tried. Chalue has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges.

The trial is being held in Hampden County because of the heavy media coverage the case received in Berkshire County.
