ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office announced the results of an operation aimed to crack down on businesses selling alcohol to minors.

Lt. Sheila Cole said the four-day operation, dubbed Operation Right Choice, involved 96 compliance checks at local stores between April 16 and April 19, Cole said.

Cole said officers used undercover informants between the age of 15 and 19 to make the checks. She said they received consent from the parents of the teens.

According to Cole, 13 of the 96 locations had clerks cited for the sale of beer to minors.

Cole said at one store a 15-year-old was able to purchase a bottle of vodka.
