Gaffney police are investigating after a person, a house and a car were struck by a bullet after shots were fired on a street on Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched to Carlisle Street just after 7 p.m. where they sound multiple people standing in the yard who said a gray Crown Victoria pulled up and started shooting, according to the incident report.

Officers were told a victim had been hit by a bullet and brought to the hospital.

The report said the responding officer saw what appeared to be a hole made by a bullet that went through the front of the house, into the dinning room and exited through another wall.

Several minutes after the first call, deputies responded to Novant Medical Center in reference to the gunshot victim.

The victim stated he was the passenger in a car driving through the Sarratt Street area when someone yelled at them to stop the car, according to the report.

The victim said he got out of the car and said, "what did you say," before he heard seven or eight gunshots, the report stated.

Police said the man was struck in the left arm and suffered an apparent graze wound to his back.

According to police, there were multiple bullet holes in the car and the rear windshield was broken.

The report said, after the shooting, a witness called police about two women looking along the edge of the tree line near the house that was struck by bullets.

Police arrived and found a handgun, which appeared to have the serial number scratched off.
