GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Saturday is drug take-back day and several communities in the western Carolinas have locations where residents can drop of expired or unused medications, no questions asked.

Renewable Water Resources said the event offers a safe alternative to flushing unused pharmaceuticals down the drain, which can impact the area's water and wildlife.

The take-back service will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on April 26.

In Spartanburg medications can be dropped of at:

Spartanburg City Hall, 145 W. Broad St.

CVS, 87 Garner Rd.

Archibald Rutledge Apartments, 764 N. Church St.

Greenville:

McAlister Square, 225 S. Pleasantburg Dr.

St. Francis Millennium Campus, 2 Innovation Dr.

Newberry County, NC:

Newberry County Sheriff 's Office, 520 Wilson Rd.
