WILLIAMSTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A meeting for parents of students in Anderson One district schools is scheduled to take place Sunday night to discuss the Baccalaureate event for graduating seniors.

School officials said the meeting will be at 7:15 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, which is located on New Hope Road at the intersection of Easley Highway.

David Havird, Superintendent of Anderson One, will be present to discuss the district's plans to hold future Baccalaureates at the church instead of on school grounds, according to Assistant Superintendent Jane Harrison.

Harrison said that during a Baccalaureate, which is always held the Sunday before graduation ceremonies, a pastor provides a motivational speech on campus to any students who wish to participate.
