SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg Police are investigating a beating inside a sports bar that sent a man to the intensive care unit of the hospital early Saturday morning, according to incident reports.

Police said the beating was reported to have happened inside Gravy's Grill on Kensington Drive around 3 a.m.

According to reports, the 23-year-old Spartanburg victim claimed he was beaten by four men.

The victim's mother told police the victim's brother brought him home after the assault.

The mother said the victim was bleeding from his ears, bleeding from the back of his head, had bruises and swelling on his face and upper body and had a shoe print on his forehead.

After he was rushed to the hospital, doctors also determined the victim was bleeding from his brain, according to his mother.

The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Spartanburg Police.
