Tornado watch expires but threat from storms, flooding continue

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Tornado Watch has expired but the threat from severe storms and heavy rainfall continues Tuesday morning.

A powerful storm system to the west is slowly pushing east and is bringing an environment that is more favorable for tornadoes, damaging wind, hail and flooding.

As storms move into the area, severe storms will be possible, along with torrential downpours through about 10 a.m.

There is a Flash Flood Watch for the entire region through midnight Thursday morning. Four to six inches of rain is possible by the time the system finally pushes out of the area late Wednesday evening.

Storms should weaken and push out during the day on Tuesday, before more storms develop for Tuesday night.

Stay with FOX Carolina and foxcarolina.com for continuing coverage as the storms move through the area.
