ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Anderson man has been charged with attempted murder after deputies said he fired shots into his girlfriend's vehicle when she left him in a parking lot, according to Lt. Sheila Cole with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.

On March 13, Joseph Hill, 28, and his girlfriend were leaving a friend's house when he demanded she drive, because his license was suspended, according to Cole.

When she refused to drive, Hill became upset and threatened to shoot her, according to Cole.

Hill's girlfriend got behind the wheel and sped away leaving him in a gas station parking lot on Flat Rock Road in Starr, Cole said.

As she drove away, Hill shot at the vehicle, striking the rear window, passenger's side window and the back driver's side door, according to Cole.

On April 25, Hill was taken into custody by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

He has been charged with attempted murder and was being held at the Anderson County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.

According to Cole, on Monday, he bonded out and was turned over to the Greenwood County Sheriffs Office where he is being held on a grand larceny charge.
