GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

As the storm clouds gather in the Upstate and western Carolinas, the need for shelter grows.

American Home Pride store owner Richard Logan said he has just the solution as tornadoes threaten the Southeast. His store sells storm shelters that can be installed in your backyard, much in the same way an underground pool might be installed.

"We have a six-man, four-man, all the way up to a 20-man, 40-man and 60-man," said Logan. "Some of these are for commercial application - daycares, nursing homes, preschools - places like that."

One might not think shelters like these are popular in South Carolina, but Logan said recent storms have prompted homeowners to take extra precautions.

"It could happen here just as easily as it could happen anywhere else," said Logan.

Alan Forman helps install the shelters in people's yards.

"We have to have the right slope, we have to have nothing in the way - waterlines, electric lines - anything," said Forman.

Logan said the shelters comply with all FEMA standards.
