SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An apartment was badly damaged after a fire in Spartanburg on Thursday.

Officials said one unit at Timberland Apartments on Kensington Drive suffered smoke and fire damage during the fire that was called in at 5:48 p.m.

According to officials, residents were moving into the apartment when they set a box on the stove and accidentally turned it on.

It was the only unit affected by the fire.

Fire officials said no one was taken to the hospital.
