GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A record total of 7,151 volunteers from across Upstate worked together to complete nearly 200 service projects during the United Way Hands On Greenville (HOG) Day on Saturday morning.

This marked the 20th year HOG Day has brought together teams of volunteers representing hundreds of community organizations, companies and families who wanted to serve and give back to the Greenville community.

Volunteers undertook a wide range of projects including painting at county parks, landscaping at nonprofit organizations and schools, helping out at community vegetable gardens, and even build homes with Habitat for Humanity.

FOX Carolina employees teamed up to take on landscaping and painting projects at the Greenville Humane Society. Danny Woznick with Mulch Mill/Timber Tach donated $1,800 of mulch to help the FOX Carolina team and Down to Earth complete the project at the Humane Society.

"Thanks to our awesome team, this is the first year the Greenville humane society has completed all HOG Day projects," said FOX Carolina News Tonight anchor Cody Alcorn.
