TRAVELERS REST, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Firefighters with the North Greenville Fire Department said they responded to a fire at the Travelers Rest Speedway on Saturday night.

A witness said the fire broke out inside the race track's second story concession stand.

One of our Facebook fans provided pictures showing flames shooting out of the structure.

Speedway owner Mike Hawkins said a practice race was held at the track earlier Saturday night, before the fire broke out.

Hawkins said crews have been assessing the damage and will make necessary repairs.

"We don't expect this to prevent any operations at the track," Hawkins said.
