Monday morning will host sunny skies with temperatures approaching record highs by the afternoon.
Look to see highs climb into the upper 80s, close to 91 in the Upstate, while temperatures in western North Carolina hang out in the mid to upper 80s.
The Upstate record is 91, set in 1934, which may be tied Monday.
Winds will start off light and variable area wide then pick up by midday. West-southwest winds will be between 10 and 15 mph with gusts reaching as high as 30 mph. Western North Carolina will mainly see winds out of the northwest between 5 and 15 mph with gusts reaching close to 25 mph.
Overnight lows for Monday into Tuesday will fall into the lower and upper 50s. More sun and above normal temperatures continue as well. We will see this hot and sunny streak last the duration of the work week. Our next chance of rain won't be until next weekend.
