Cherokee County firefighters rescued two people from the Broad River on Tuesday.
Sheriff Steve Mueller said firefighters responded to the initial report of a drowning at the river off Wolf Den Lane in Gaffney.
He said two men went out too far into the river and the current took them down stream. The men were able to grab onto a rock until rescue workers arrived.
Firefighters pulled the men from the river.
They are reported to be okay.
Sheriff Mueller said young kids are known to hang out at the spot during nice weather.
