3 students cited in fight at Gaffney High School

GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Three Gaffney High School students have been charged with disturbing school after a fight broke out at the school on Thursday, according to incident reports.

The reports state Darryl Peak, 18, grabbed Austin Hollingsworth, 17, during an argument in the school cafeteria, and the two began "to tussle."

Other students began to break them up and once the two were separated, there were reports that Peak punched Dustin Hall, 17, in the face.

Hall then charged at Peak and those two began fighting, according to reports.

During the incident, reports state Hollingsworth picked up a chair and threw it across the cafeteria at Peak.

The School Resource Officer said the students were charged as adults.

Each student involved was issued a $1,092 citation, according to Gaffney police records and are due in city court on Friday afternoon.

Gaffney High School officials said the students may each be suspended for up to seven days per the school's disciplinary code.
