Investigators are working to find out what caused a fire early Sunday morning at a home in Western Henrico.

Crews responded to the 7600 block of Sunnybrook Drive around 2:54 a.m. Sunday for the report of a house fire.  When firefighters arrived on scene smoke and fire were visible from the rear of a single story residence.   The fire was marked under control by 3:18 a.m. Sunday.

An adult female was alerted to the fire by smoke detectors in the home and was able to make it out uninjured. It appears the woman that lives there will be displaced for a short period of time.

There was minor fire and smoke damage done to the residence. We are told the fire originated in the basement of the home. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
