ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that sent one man to the hospital on Sunday, where he later died.

Lt. David Creamer said a 911 call came in at 3 p.m. in which the caller stated a man had been shot while walking down South Manning Street near South Franklin Street.

Officers arrived to find a man in the street, Creamer said.

The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, Creamer said. Coroner Greg Shore said the victim died at the hospital about 10:15 p.m.

Shore identified the victim as Anthony Jameson, 32, and said he was shot in the back.

Witnesses told police a blue vehicle was driving alongside the victim when a man leaned out of the passenger side window and opened fire on the victim.

Police said no suspects have been named at this time, and ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
